The eight limbs of yoga - Ashtanga Yoga

1.​​ Yama (Restraints): Yama refers to ethical principles or restraints that guide one's behaviour towards others and the world. There are five Yamas:

-​​ Satya (Truthfulness)

-​​ Asteya (Non-stealing)

-​​ Brahmacharya (Moderation or celibacy)

-​​ Aparigraha (Non-possessiveness or non-greed)

2.​​ Niyama (Observances): Niyama refers to personal observances or disciplines that foster self-discipline and inner purity. There are five Niyamas:

-​​ Santosha (Contentment)

-​​ Tapas (Austerity or self-discipline)

In Samadhi, the distinction between the meditator, the act of meditation, and the object of meditation dissolves, leading to a state of profound bliss and liberation.

Concept of Ishwara in Yoga Philosophy

In yoga philosophy, the concept of Ishwara refers to the Supreme Being or Divine Consciousness. Ishwara is often described as the ultimate reality, the source of all existence, and the embodiment of pure consciousness and divine grace. Here's a closer look at Ishwara in yoga philosophy:

1. Supreme Consciousness:​​ Ishwara is understood as the highest form of consciousness, transcending all limitations and imperfections. As the Supreme Being, Ishwara is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent, existing beyond the realm of time and space.
